Malachi 4:4-6 encapsulates or summarizes the Old Testament and introduces the New Testament by warning Israel that the Law, sometimes attributed to Moses but was dictated by God and still in force for all time, warns of a curse to befall all humanity if the hearts of the children could not be turned back to the fathers and vice versa. Secondly, before the coming of the Lord, Elijah would come. Some have erroneously read into that verse that Herbert W. Armstrong was the Elijah (or Zerubbabel) or this verse apparently applied to the coming Two Witnesses. Jesus cleared up these speculations, claiming that this verse applied only to John the Baptist. John the Baptist, in the bravery of Elijah, warned Herod of his sexual immorality, forfeiting his head in the process just as Elijah had warned the 450 prophets of Baal that sexual perversion was rampant. Dr. Luis Rojas Marcos has warned America (as well as the rest of Israel) that our children are awash in mental health problems, including ADHD, depression, and suicide. Because of digitally distracted parents uninvolved in the training and upbringing of children, many having only one parent (the mother) as ensured by the progressive leftist welfare state, the family and particularly the children are under a curse. The COVID-19 pandemic has only exacerbated this curse, killing more older men (or fathers) than women, while leaving the children primarily untouched. Elijah became wobbly in the knees apparently when he temporarily forgot all God had done for him. God's people must avoid becoming fearful and lose their way, but must stay riveted on the Law of God.
