How Fear Resists Faith

Sermon by Martin G. Collins

A disposition refers to a person's prevailing dominant tendency, mood, or inclination. It serves as a synonym for temperament, which describes a person's unique makeup consisting of the mixture or balance of qualities. All individuals are born unique with specific traits, virtues, failures, weaknesses, and blemishes. People share the same general characteristics, yet the proportions vary widely and produce differing temperaments. Each person remains uniquely different after conversion because becoming a Christian does not end the need to live with one's own self. God gives gifts through the Holy Spirit in various ways even though the essential temperament remains the same as before conversion. Temperament or disposition means the unique way of approaching or doing things. Individuals perform the same actions yet carry them out differently after answering God's call.
