The Humblest of Beginnings
Sermonette by David C. GrabbeThroughout history, God has overseen and sovereignly caused His good news to be preached to the world, often through the latest technological advances. It is entirely possible that He inspired and caused some of these advancements, at least in part, so that His work could be accomplished. As seen in the last century, He has worked through media such as printed magazines, radio, and television to proclaim the gospel of the Kingdom of God. The history of the church demonstrates that when God works through mankind, He often starts very small, as underscored by the warning in Zechariah 4:10 to not despise the day of small things. Psalm 127:1-2 reminds us that unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it, and unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. Truly, God has blessed the efforts of the church's Internet projects, and any future increase will also come from Him. We can rest assured that He will open the doors He wants us to walk through, guiding the work to be perfect for what He purposes to do.
