A People Being Prepared to Pass the Rope
Feast of Tabernacles Sermon by Mark SchindlerThe term Lord of Hosts shows God is in charge in bringing His work to its end. The term is used 245 times in the whole Bible. Of those 245 times it is used 91 times in these three short books alone. In a translation the phrase Lord of Heaven's Armies appears to convey the same idea that God will bring His plan to completion. This is what the Lord of Heaven's Armies says regarding passionate and strong love for Mount Zion. The Lord of Heaven's Armies declares a return to Mount Zion to live in Jerusalem. Jerusalem will then be called the Faithful City while the mountain of the Lord of Heaven's Armies will be called the HOLY Mountain. The Lord of Heaven's Armies states that old men and women will walk Jerusalem's streets with canes and sit together in the city squares while the streets will be filled with boys and girls at play. The Lord of Heaven's Armies acknowledges that all of this may seem impossible to a small remnant of God's People yet asks if it is impossible. The Lord of Heaven's Armies says to be strong and finish the task.
Do You See God in Deuteronomy?
Sermon by John W. Ritenbaugh (1932-2023)The armies in heaven follow Christ on white horses. They are clothed in fine linen that is white and clean. This clothing references the Bride described a few verses earlier. Zechariah states that the LORD will come with all the saints. A similar circumstance occurs when His angels gather His elect from the four winds. These references indicate that the armies in heaven consist of a mixture of angels and God's resurrected saints. It is not one or the other but appears to be both. Christ comes with all His holy angels. What is accomplished by these armies in that war exceeds in horror the events under Sihon and Og.
