A Band of Christian Brothers

Sermon by Ted E. Bowling

Brethren, we are being trained through God's Holy Spirit, through our services, our prayers, and our study, to learn discipline and obedience, for someday our lives will depend on it even more. As a band of Christian brothers, there are times when we will face adversities, but we have Jesus Christ, Who has called us not to a life of passive comfort, but to be soldiers in His army. We are called to endure the spiritual hardships of this world, facing times of hardship, pain, and sorrow, yet standing firm with Him. Brethren, it takes work to live up to God's standards and requires a great deal of courage, but know that our Leader, Jesus Christ, stands by our side every step of the way. As a church, a band of brothers and sisters, even though separated by miles and isolation, we have each other to strengthen and support. We are called to be a band of spiritual brothers, bonded together in this spiritual battle, trusting our God to lead and direct us in a way no one else could. We must trust, love, and be a part of our brethren, gaining strength from each other through the Spirit of God, forming bonds closer and better than any other if we are willing to sacrifice for them. God unifies us, changing us from surviving as individuals into a band of brothers in the church, a body knit together where each member works efficiently, promoting growth. We have been called to build bonds of love and unity, not walls of separation or division, to be at one with our Father, with Jesus Christ, and with each other. From the moment of baptism, we become brothers in arms in this spiritual conflict, encouraged together by the faith of God that He builds in us, ready always to serve each other. God intends us to stand together as one, and though many are isolated and separated by miles, know that you do not stand alone; we are with you, and our Savior is with you. Suffering through trials, especially when faced together with our brethren, allows us to grow both individually and collectively.

Love Thy Neighbor (Part 2)

Sermon by John W. Ritenbaugh (1932-2023)

He who loves God must love his brother, including every fellow human being. Our closeness with God transcends the other human relationships.

Government (Part Six)

Sermon by John W. Ritenbaugh

The ministry's authority consists of teaching, edifying, and equipping the members for sainthood, but not to wield dictatorial power over their lives.
