God, Satan, and David's Numbering of Israel

'Prophecy Watch' by David C. Grabbe

The universe holds mysteries beyond human comprehension, and God's Word offers insight into the spiritual realm where the Father, the Son, and angels, both loyal and fallen, reside. In a notable account, a gathering of the host of heaven includes both faithful angels and sinful ones. During this assembly, God seeks a means to bring about Ahab's downfall, and a demon suggests deceiving Ahab through his prophets, a plan which God approves. This demonstrates that His sovereignty extends over all beings, even those who have corrupted themselves. Just as God employs fierce men like Nebuchadnezzar and Hazael as instruments of punishment, so too does He utilize rebellious angels to fulfill His will, as seen in the lives of Ahab and Job.
