A Primer On Spirit

Sermon by John W. Ritenbaugh (1932-2023)

The Father-Son Relationship (Part Seven)

Sermon by John W. Ritenbaugh

The Holy Spirit is never venerated as a separate being. Our hope is the indwelling of Christ, used interchangeably with 'Spirit of God' and 'Spirit of Truth.'

Seal of Approval

Sermonette by Christian D. Hunter

The Holy Spirit of promise functions as the divine seal received by those who hear the word of truth, trust in the gospel of salvation, and believe. This sealing marks recipients as belonging to God while preserving them for the day of redemption. The promise originates from God, who works through Christ to establish and anoint believers, joining the giving of the Spirit with the act of sealing as a guarantee of divine faithfulness. The same Spirit represents the mind and character of God placed within individuals, replacing a stony heart with one of flesh and enabling them to keep the law written on their minds as the mark of the New Covenant. Through this indwelling presence, recipients produce fruit and actions visible to others that confirm their identity as children of God. The seal carries the authority of the one who places it, ensuring that the words and promises attached to it can be trusted and implemented, much as a signet authenticated royal decrees. Yet the seal can be grieved through sinful actions such as bitterness, wrath, anger, quarreling, and evil speaking, actions that echo the iniquity that once removed the seal of perfection from another. God therefore continues to fulfill His end of the promise by actively sealing and preparing those who remain steadfast, abounding in the work of the Lord so that their labor leads to acceptance rather than rejection at the day of redemption.

Acts (Part Three)

Sermon/Bible Study by John W. Ritenbaugh

Adherents to the Pentecostal movement try to mimic some of the superficial surface manifestations of Acts 2 rather than follow the teaching given on that day.

God's Investment in You

Sermon by Mark Schindler

God wants to protect His investment in us, calling those whom He knows will exercise the zeal, and willingness to sacrifice, to complete the project.

The Covenants, Grace, and Law (Part Thirteen)

Sermon by John W. Ritenbaugh

As we participate in the New Covenant, we go through the stages of justification, sanctification, and ultimately glorification as part of Christ's body.
