Christ's Mission Statement
Sermon byJesus Christ, in His mission statement as recorded in Luke 4:18-19, declares a profound purpose to heal the brokenhearted. He has been sent to mend the hearts of those who have suffered grief through loss or whose spirits have been crushed by betrayal, deceit, and exploitation. This cruel world, compounded by personal sins, often leaves individuals with shattered hearts, and His divine commission is to rebuild, fix, and renovate these wounded spirits. As part of His overarching work, He offers a transformative renewal, akin to a heart transplant, providing a new beginning and new life to those burdened by spiritual abuse and the weight of sin. Through His ministry, He aims to restore and heal, ensuring that the brokenhearted find solace and strength in His divine care.

The God of All Comfort
Sermonette by David C. GrabbeGod is described as the God of All Comfort, a fundamental aspect of His character, providing relief and strength in all tribulations. He comforts His people so they, in turn, may comfort others, acting as conduits of His support and encouragement. Throughout various scriptures, His comfort is evident, offering protection, security, and hope, counterbalancing anxiety and grief with His presence and promises. As a mother comforts her child, so does He promise to console His people with a deep understanding of their struggles. On a human level, the absence of comfort in formative years can profoundly affect relationships within the Body of Christ, shaping how individuals connect and love. Yet, regardless of past experiences, God, as the God of All Comfort, and His Son are committed to healing the brokenhearted and comforting all who mourn. Their ongoing work in the lives of believers enables them to grow in understanding and to comfort others, reflecting the divine relationship between the Father and the Son. Through drawing closer to Him, believers can overcome fears, anxieties, and relational barriers, finding security in His unchanging nature and learning to trust Him fully. His love and consolation establish believers in every good word and work, providing the support and example needed to extend comfort to others.
