They Know!
Commentary by Martin G. CollinsThe American College of Pediatricians declares that human life begins at conception. In spite of the scientific consensus, the courts have sanctioned murder.
The Sixth Commandment
Bible Study by Martin G. CollinsThe unborn child is a living human being, and abortion is murder under the sixth commandment. Causing a miscarriage carried a penalty under the law (Exodus 21:22-24), and God condemns taking a bribe to slay the innocent (Exodus 23:7; Deuteronomy 27:25). Unborn children possess awareness and intelligence, as Jacob and Esau struggling in Rebekah's womb and John the Baptist leaping in Elizabeth's womb show (Genesis 25:21-26; Luke 1:41-44). God cares about the unborn. He forms each child in the womb, knits each one together, and knew them before birth (Job 10:8-12; Psalm 139:13-16; Jeremiah 1:5). Children are a heritage from the LORD (Psalm 127:3), and God does not want any little one to perish (Matthew 18:10, 14). By the seventh week of gestation the fetus has measurable brain waves, a legal criterion for determining whether a person is alive, and an aborted baby dies a painful death. Statistically, the most dangerous place to be in the United States is the mother's womb. Life belongs to God, so neither the state, the individual, nor the parent is the lord of life (Psalm 100:3; Isaiah 44:24; I Corinthians 6:19).
Hands That Shed Innocent Blood
Sermon by Martin G. CollinsPost-abortion mothers experience guilt, anxiety, sexual dysfunction, and even suicide. The mental health of the immediate and extended family also degenerates.
