In the end-time prophecies, Christ will take vengeance on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, punishing them with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power when He comes in that Day. This occurs after the gospel of the Kingdom has been preached in all the world, leaving no one able to claim ignorance of God and His way. The same principle appears in the declaration that God overlooked earlier times of ignorance but now commands all men everywhere to repent because He has appointed a day to judge the world in righteousness by the Man He has ordained, with assurance given through His resurrection from the dead. Mankind possesses sufficient knowledge of the Creator to stand without excuse, and the dramatic end-time preaching of the gospel renders humanity even more accountable. Those who obstinately refuse to hear and submit to the Creator and reigning King therefore face justified vengeance, as their works deny God and their destruction becomes eternal. This element of divine response to disobedience integrates with the larger theme that the overwhelming end-time peril stems from covenantal unfaithfulness and rejection of the Creator rather than from human technology, culminating in wrath poured out on all flesh that has turned away from the Source of truth.
