Ambassadors for Christ

Sermon by Martin G. Collins

Living for Jesus Christ compels us to represent Him and God's Kingdom as ambassadors. As a new creation, transformed by accepting Him as our Savior, we become a brand new man with new values, motivations, and possessions. This new nature must be nurtured by spiritual decisiveness to grow in Christ with the help of God's Spirit, providing hope even amidst worldly chaos. Christ's love urges us to be reconcilers, helping others to reconcile with God and one another, reflecting our role as His representatives. As ambassadors for Christ, we must be citizens of heaven, undergoing a profound change to become sons of the Kingdom. Our citizenship in heaven grants us privileges far beyond earthly ones, with our King being the King of kings and Lord of lords, the Son of God Himself. Our spiritual capitol is the heavenly Jerusalem, and as citizens scattered across the earth, we belong to a vast, eternal Kingdom. This position demands that we live as foreigners to the world, not conforming to its ways but adhering to the laws and customs of God's Kingdom. To truly live for Christ, we must ensure we are not strangers or foreigners within His church. We should feel at ease among God's people, understand their language and concerns, and be in on the spiritual mysteries revealed to His saints. Conforming to the commands of God, which are not burdensome to the true Christian, is essential. Our concern for the state and well-being of God's family must be instinctive, and above all, we must possess a spiritual birth certificate, the assurance of God's Spirit of adoption, confirming we are children of God. Living as reconciling ambassadors for Christ, we daily remind ourselves of our heavenly citizenship and the privileges of membership in His church, which surpass anything the world can offer.

The Eternal Privileges of the Bride

Feast of Tabernacles Sermon by Martin G. Collins

In this insightful message, we learn about the breathtaking spiritual blessings and destiny of the Church-the Bride of Christ (Ephesians 5:25-33). In the same manner as a bride gains a new identity, name, and inheritance through marriage, God's chosen saints, united with Christ, share His very life, glory, and eternal prospects. This divine marriage is everlasting, founded on love, sanctification and oneness, Sadly, many undervalue their precious calling, forgetting that being a part of Christ's body means sharing His very identity and mission. Key privileges of the Bride include sharing: 1 His Life: Because Christ shares His life with His Bride, God's chosen saints no longer live for self, through His indwelling presence (Galatians 2:20; Colossians 3:4). 2 His Name: Bearing His name equates to sharing His authority, character and destiny, identifying believers as citizens of God's Kingdom (Revelation 3:12). 3 His Dignity and Authority: Consisting of overcomers, the Bride shares Christ's throne (Revelation 3:2). 4 His Inheritance: As joint heirs with Christ, God's resurrected saints receive all that belongs to Him, including eternal life, heavenly riches, and participation in His divine purposes (Romans 8:16-17, I Corinthians 3:21-23). 5 His Interests and Servants: The Bride fully shares in Christ's mission and His servant's ministry, which include laboring with Him in His redemptive work (Revelation 2:17). 6 His Glory and Prospects: As God's chosen saints, our lives and future destiny are currently hidden with Christ in God, as we wait full revelation when we appear with Him in glory (Colossians 3:1-4; John 17:24). All that Christ possesses He graciously shares with His Bride. To be united with the Son of God is the highest privilege ever granted-an awesome destiny of eternal love and shared glory beyond all human imagination.
