Overcoming Doubt
CGG Weekly by John ReissDoubts are a natural part of the Christian journey, often arising from personal losses or unanswered prayers, leaving us feeling empty and questioning our faith. These uncertainties can stem from being of two minds, wavering between choices, or engaging in internal deliberations that challenge our convictions. The struggle with doubt is not uncommon, and it can serve as a springboard to greater understanding if addressed swiftly and properly. Overcoming doubt requires seeking God in faith, trusting in His revelation, character, and guidance, as without faith it is impossible to please Him. We must not disregard the truths we have learned and proven, nor forget His faithfulness, even when pressures and situations test our convictions. When doubt strikes, we must stand firm, dust ourselves off, and keep moving forward, remembering the countless times we have witnessed His interventions and blessings. Trusting that He knows what He is doing, we should not let misgivings sink our faith, but instead maintain our pace toward the goal with endurance. Even in the face of troubling events, we must hold to the hope that challenges are necessary steps toward His Kingdom, confident that He has created us for this time and believes in our ability to endure.
