Angels, like humans, are subject to God's judgment, for the wages of sin is death, a principle applying uniformly to all beings. Angels possess free moral agency and are judged individually according to their gifting and service. Though sinning angels still live, restricted to earth, deceiving mankind, they fear a set time of torment or destruction, as shown in their encounters with Jesus. Scriptures such as Jude 6, II Peter 2:4, Matthew 25:41, and Ezekiel 28:16-19 forecast their fate, including the anointed cherub being turned to ashes. Since no demon has repented, they bear unrepented sin and face death in the Lake of Fire. The resurrected saints, under Christ, will judge these angels, ensuring a pure creation free from unrighteousness. Also see sermons and articles about 'Angels, Judging'.

  • 1 Corinthians 6:2-5
Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life? If then you have judgments concerning things pertaining to this life, do you appoint those who are least esteemed by the church to judge? I say this to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you, not even one, who will be able to judge between his brethren?
