The Bible describes many men, but one of the most important is the new man, a creative effort of renewing our minds in cooperation with God.

What or who is the new man? The new man is Jesus Christ Himself, living in us by His Spirit, once we are baptized into Him.

The disappointment in the vanity of life is good for our spiritual preparation, making us disillusioned with all the world's glamorous but false choices.

Our relationship with God is often strengthened through hardship. We must choose to yield to God, living for a much higher goal than raw materialism.

Paul admonishes the Corinthians to resist contentions, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambition, backbiting, whispering, slander, conceit, and agitation.

The offerings have a great deal to do with our relationship with God. How closely do we identify with Christ? Are we being transformed into His image?

Paradoxically, Jerusalem has not been a city of peace, but a magnet for conflict, a situation which will not end until Christ returns.
