  • Leviticus 1:1-17
    Now the LORD called to Moses, and spoke to him from the tabernacle of meeting, saying, "Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: "When any one of you brings an offering to the LORD, you shall bring your offering of the livestock—of the herd and of the flock. "If his offering is a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish; he shall offer it of his own free will at the door of the tabernacle of meeting before the LORD. Then he shall put his hand on the head of the burnt offering, and it will be accepted on his behalf to make atonement for him. He shall kill the bull before the LORD; and the priests, Aaron’s sons, shall bring the blood and sprinkle the blood all around on the altar that is by the door of the tabernacle of meeting. And he shall skin the burnt offering and cut it into its pieces. The sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire on the altar, and lay the wood in order on the fire. Then the priests, Aaron’s sons, shall lay the parts, the head, and the fat in order on the wood that is on the fire upon the altar; but he shall wash its entrails and its legs with water. And the priest shall burn all on the altar as a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, a sweet aroma to the LORD. "If his offering is of the flocks—of the sheep or of the goats—as a burnt sacrifice, he shall bring a male without blemish. He shall kill it on the north side of the altar before the LORD; and the priests, Aaron’s sons, shall sprinkle its blood all around on the altar. And he shall cut it into its pieces, with its head and its fat; and the priest shall lay them in order on the wood that is on the fire upon the altar; but he shall wash the entrails and the legs with water. Then the priest shall bring it all and burn it on the altar; it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, a sweet aroma to the LORD. "And if the burnt sacrifice of his offering to the LORD is of birds, then he shall bring his offering of turtledoves or young pigeons. The priest shall bring it to the altar, wring off its head, and burn it on the altar; its blood shall be drained out at the side of the altar. And he shall remove its crop with its feathers and cast it beside the altar on the east side, into the place for ashes. Then he shall split it at its wings, but shall not divide it completely; and the priest shall burn it on the altar, on the wood that is on the fire. It is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, a sweet aroma to the LORD.

  • Philippians 2:5-8
    Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

  • Leviticus 4:20
    And he shall do with the bull as he did with the bull as a sin offering; thus he shall do with it. So the priest shall make atonement for them, and it shall be forgiven them.

  • Psalm 34:17-19
    The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears,
    And delivers them out of all their troubles.
    The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart,
    And saves such as have a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
    But the LORD delivers him out of them all.

  • Psalm 49:10-20
    For he sees wise men die;
    Likewise the fool and the senseless person perish,
    And leave their wealth to others.
    Their inner thought is that their houses will last forever,
    Their dwelling places to all generations;
    They call their lands after their own names.
    Nevertheless man, though in honor, does not remain;
    He is like the beasts that perish. This is the way of those who are foolish,
    And of their posterity who approve their sayings. Selah
    Like sheep they are laid in the grave;
    Death shall feed on them;
    The upright shall have dominion over them in the morning;
    And their beauty shall be consumed in the grave, far from their dwelling.
    But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave,
    For He shall receive me. Selah Do not be afraid when one becomes rich,
    When the glory of his house is increased;
    For when he dies he shall carry nothing away;
    His glory shall not descend after him.
    Though while he lives he blesses himself
    (For men will praise you when you do well for yourself),
    He shall go to the generation of his fathers;
    They shall never see light.
    A man who is in honor, yet does not understand,
    Is like the beasts that perish.

  • Psalm 147:3
    He heals the brokenhearted
    And binds up their wounds.

  • Proverbs 14:4
    Where no oxen are, the trough is clean;
    But much increase comes by the strength of an ox.

  • Proverbs 30:29-33
    There are three things which are majestic in pace,
    Yes, four which are stately in walk:
    A lion, which is mighty among beasts
    And does not turn away from any;
    A greyhound,
    A male goat also,
    And a king whose troops are with him.
    If you have been foolish in exalting yourself,
    Or if you have devised evil, put your hand on your mouth.
    For as the churning of milk produces butter,
    And wringing the nose produces blood,
    So the forcing of wrath produces strife.

  • Isaiah 53:7
    He was oppressed and He was afflicted,
    Yet He opened not His mouth;
    He was led as a lamb to the slaughter,
    And as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
    So He opened not His mouth.

  • Isaiah 59:8-15
    The way of peace they have not known,
    And there is no justice in their ways;
    They have made themselves crooked paths;
    Whoever takes that way shall not know peace. Therefore justice is far from us,
    Nor does righteousness overtake us;
    We look for light, but there is darkness!
    For brightness, but we walk in blackness!
    We grope for the wall like the blind,
    And we grope as if we had no eyes;
    We stumble at noonday as at twilight;
    We are as dead men in desolate places.
    We all growl like bears,
    And moan sadly like doves;
    We look for justice, but there is none;
    For salvation, but it is far from us.
    For our transgressions are multiplied before You,
    And our sins testify against us;
    For our transgressions are with us,
    And as for our iniquities, we know them:
    In transgressing and lying against the LORD,
    And departing from our God,
    Speaking oppression and revolt,
    Conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.
    Justice is turned back,
    And righteousness stands afar off;
    For truth is fallen in the street,
    And equity cannot enter.
    So truth fails,
    And he who departs from evil makes himself a prey. Then the LORD saw it, and it displeased Him
    That there was no justice.

  • Jeremiah 11:19

    for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—

Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.

  • Colossians 1:14-23
    in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight— if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.
