Why Hebrews Was Written (Part Nine)
'Personal' from John W. RitenbaughGod has communicated tirelessly with humanity through men and angels. The first chapters of Hebrews displays Christ's superiority over even the angels.
Let the Saints be Joyful in Glory!
Sermon by Martin G. CollinsThe wave sheaf offering and the subsequent count to Pentecost portray the acceptance of Jesus Christ as the first of the firstfruits and the preparation of those who follow Him. These followers are identified as the holy ones, also called saints, the called-out ones, and the elect. They constitute the firstfruits of God's spiritual harvest, set apart through sanctification that begins with the blood of Christ and continues by the washing of water through the word. This process renders them clean, blameless, and without blemish, enabling them to be presented as a glorious assembly ready for inclusion in God's Family. The two leavened loaves waved on Pentecost symbolize these holy ones, imperfect in themselves yet accepted by the Father because of Christ's perfect sacrifice. As firstfruits they are registered in heaven as the church of the firstborn, united with Christ who is the firstborn among many brethren. Their calling requires them to walk worthy of it by maintaining lowliness, gentleness, longsuffering, and the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. They must also contend for the faith, resist temptation, and produce the fruit of the Spirit so that their election may be made sure. At the return of Jesus Christ the holy ones will be raised in glory, preserved forever by God, and counted worthy of the Kingdom. They will accompany Him to execute judgment, bind the rebellious, and establish righteous rule. Thereafter they will inherit the earth and participate in the eternal expansion of God's holy purpose throughout the universe. Thus the fifty-day period from wave sheaf to Pentecost reveals that the holy ones are not merely observers of the festivals but the very harvest those festivals depict, called and prepared now for everlasting service in the Family of God.
The Rapture and Trumpets
Sermon by Richard T. RitenbaughThe delusion of the pre-Tribulation 'rapture' concept, made popular by the Left Behind books and movies, hopelessly messes up the timing of Bible prophecy.
God's Spiritual Harvest
Sermon by Martin G. CollinsLike Christ, we too are firstfruits, represented by the leavened loaves picturing our acceptance by the Father.

'Personal' from John W. RitenbaughWhere can we find the true religion, the true church, in all this confusion? Only the church Christ founded and heads today has the answers to eternal life.
