• Revelation 17:1-2
    Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me, "Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication."
     
  • Revelation 17:4-6
    The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication. And on her forehead a name was written:
    MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement.
     
  • Jeremiah 3:2-3
    "Lift up your eyes to the desolate heights and see:
    Where have you not lain with men?
    By the road you have sat for them
    Like an Arabian in the wilderness;
    And you have polluted the land
    With your harlotries and your wickedness.
    Therefore the showers have been withheld,
    And there has been no latter rain.
    You have had a harlot's forehead;
    You refuse to be ashamed.

    Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath. Then every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.

    The children gather wood, the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead dough, to make cakes for the queen of heaven; and they pour out drink offerings to other gods, that they may provoke Me to anger.
     
  • Jeremiah 44:17-19
    But we will certainly do whatever has gone out of our own mouth, to burn incense to the queen of heaven and pour out drink offerings to her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings and our princes, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. For then we had plenty of food, were well-off, and saw no trouble. But since we stopped burning incense to the queen of heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have lacked everything and have been consumed by the sword and by famine.” The women also said,“And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven and poured out drink offerings to her, did we make cakes for her, to worship her, and pour out drink offerings to her without our husbands’ permission?
     
  • Ezekiel 16:46-48
    “Your elder sister is Samaria, who dwells with her daughters to the north of you; and your younger sister, who dwells to the south of you, is Sodom and her daughters. You did not walk in their ways nor act according to their abominations; but, as if that were too little, you became more corrupt than they in all your ways. “As I live,” says the Lord GOD, “neither your sister Sodom nor her daughters have done as you and your daughters have done.
     
  • Ezekiel 23:2-4
    " Son of man, there were two women,
    The daughters of one mother.
    They committed harlotry in Egypt,
    They committed harlotry in their youth;
    Their breasts were there embraced,
    Their virgin bosom was there pressed.
    Their names: Oholah the elder and Oholibah her sister;
    They were Mine,
    And they bore sons and daughters.
    As for their names,
    Samaria is Oholah, and Jerusalem is Oholibah.
     
  • Hosea 1:2
    When the LORD began to speak by Hosea, the LORD said to Hosea:
    ' Go, take yourself a wife of harlotry
    And children of harlotry,
    For the land has committed great harlotry
    By departing from the LORD.'
     
  • Hosea 4:11-13
    "Harlotry, wine, and new wine enslave the heart.
    My people ask counsel from their wooden idols,
    And their staff informs them.
    For the spirit of harlotry has caused them to stray,
    And they have played the harlot against their God.
    They offer sacrifices on the mountaintops,
    And burn incense on the hills,
    Under oaks, poplars, and terebinths,
    Because their shade is good.
    Therefore your daughters commit harlotry,
    And your brides commit adultery.

    "You only have I known of all the families of the earth;
    Therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities."

     
  • Revelation 17:16
    And the ten horns which you saw on the beast, these will hate the harlot, make her desolate and naked, eat her flesh and burn her with fire.

    And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, "Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird!

    In the measure that she glorified herself and lived luxuriously, in the same measure give her torment and sorrow; for she says in her heart, "I sit as queen, and am no widow, and will not see sorrow."
