commentary: Truth Is Fallen in the Street
Lying Produces Confusion, Uncertainty, and Unwillingness to Follow
John W. Ritenbaugh
Given 13-Dec-08; Sermon #914c; 10 minutes
John Ritenbaugh, reflecting on Isaiah 59 depicting a time immediately before Judah was taken in captivity, suggests that our own culture shows some precarious parallels to this time of collapse. Like our forebears in this time, our nation gropes and stumbles at noonday, participating in fraud and lies, causing a stench to emanate from our national sins. The question of Barack Obama's eligibility to become President has been quashed by the sinister unanimous silence of the United States Supreme Court. This foundation of lies causes our people to grope for light at noonday and succumb to a curtain of falsehood.
