It is Done! The Perfect Peace of God

Sermon by Mark Schindler

In these times of trial and trouble, we must be joyfully grateful for the glimpse God has provided of His work, which extends far beyond our imagination. God is preparing us for a reality we cannot fully grasp within this current phase of His creation process, yet we hold a privileged responsibility to follow Jesus Christ meticulously. Our faith must look beyond the chaos exploding around us to the reality of God's endgame for all humanity, filled with the same swelling hope as those who have gone before us. God has been working from eternity with absolute understanding to create a peace of unity and harmony that will never be broken. We, among all people throughout history, have a responsibility to live up to God's peace, even as the drums of war attempt to pull us into conflict. Our citizenship lies in a carefully prepared place within the Kingdom of God, beyond the heavens and earth we now see, a place that will one day no longer exist as we know it. We must focus on Jesus Christ and the work only He can do to enable us to live as He does, offering a sacrificial devotion to God and man that brings us into perfect peaceful harmony with Them right now. Though we may not yet have the complete peace that will come when God finishes His project, we can experience a measure of that peace if we valiantly stay the course in sacrificial devotion according to God's will. Seeking and pursuing peace is our duty now, following the Prince of Peace in our humble attempts at total devotion to God and humanity, made certain through Jesus Christ if we remain steadfast. We must not allow the chaos and confusion around us to pull us away from the peace of God that is ours now through Jesus Christ, a peace that will be shared by all who follow behind Christ in the future. Jesus Christ is working everything toward a perfect peace that surpasses anything we can imagine, establishing a relationship within the Family of God where war against God's way of life will never be an issue again. When our High Priest, Jesus Christ, proclaims, "It is done!" the perfect peace of God that surpasses all understanding will be established forever, uniting a Family perfectly aligned with the Father, devoted to one another with outgoing concern for eternity.
