Teach Your Children
Sermonette by Bill CherryGod calls us to love Him with all our heart, soul, and strength, embedding His Word deeply within us. This passion for God must be the foundation of our lives, guiding our actions and interactions, and bringing joy through obedience to His laws. As we cultivate this love, we gain something precious to pass on to our children—our example of righteous living, our knowledge of His Word, and the confidence and faith that come from trusting in Him. We are instructed to teach these words diligently to our children, discussing them when we sit in our house, walk by the way, lie down, and rise up. This teaching requires perseverance, consistency, and planning, ensuring that every day we set aside specific times to share God's Word with our children. Beyond formal teaching, we must engage in constant conversation, listening to their hearts and minds, and guiding them with examples from our own experiences of applying His Word. Our love for God's law and our commitment to His ways compel us to provide this guidance. By living out this love and diligently teaching it, we offer our children a foundation of faith and a shield against the selfishness and false ideas of the world. As parents, we hold a unique opportunity to show them the joy and happiness that come from living God's way, ensuring they are equipped with the love and knowledge of Him.
