God's Simple Commands

For instance, He clearly instructed Adam and Eve not to eat from the tree in the middle of the garden, a straightforward command that they failed to obey. Sin, therefore, is not complex; it occurs when we do not do what God says we should do. Even though Adam and Eve saw God and knew He created them, they still did not believe Him enough to resist sinning. God also gave direct instructions to Israel before entering the Promised Land, commanding them to drive out the Canaanites completely—every man, woman, and child—warning that failure to do so would lead to their downfall. The simplicity of His commands underscores that sin results from not following what He instructs, a principle that remains clear and understandable.
