God Has a Dream

'Ready Answer' by Staff

God's heart is an open book, for in the Bible, He has revealed to mankind all His deepest thoughts and greatest hopes. Human beings can think the same kind of thoughts that Christ did, as Paul encourages in Philippians 2:5, "Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus." Since Christ declares that He speaks only those ideas learned from His Father in heaven, as stated in John 7:16, we can have the very thoughts and ideas of God the Father coursing through our human brains. We, made in God's likeness, are thinking beings because God is a thinking Being, spending His time pondering past events, present activity, and anticipating how He will shape the future. These great ideas in His mind make God what He is, energizing Him to work patiently on His master plan. How much is it worth to us to know the mind of God? Are we convinced that it is profitable to know what our Creator is going to do? We can eliminate much of our worry and stress if we believe what God believes. When we apply our minds and hearts to consider the meaning of God's holy days, we are in effect thinking the Father's thoughts, ideas that originated with the Great God. God's spiritual law and His gospel are the stuff His dreams are made of, and unless we desire to begin dreaming God's dreams with Him now, we will take His salvation offer lightly. The Bible shows our Creator and Redeemer as continually focused on the gospel and the law, and Jesus expresses the mind that He would like to be in us, recognizing these two great sets of ideas without ceasing. God wishes us to open the doors of our hearts and adopt this mindset, for He cannot do that for us. He wants to dream His dreams with us, aware of our hopes and dreams, which tell Him where our heart is. Even if we reject His proposal, He would rather be dreaming His dreams with us, desiring everyone to share what He has to give. God's thoughts are infinitely higher than the selfish thoughts of mankind, but this can change, and He commands us to forsake our bad thoughts and replace them with the right thinking revealed in His gospel and law.

God the Father (Part 3)

Sermon by Martin G. Collins

The Father's ultimate purpose is to replicate Christ's character in millions of different types of personalities and backgrounds. The only way this unification can become a reality is if we become Christ-like. His purpose is to conform us to Christ's character by instilling the mind of Christ in us. But as it is written eye has not seen nor ear heard nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him. But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things yes the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him. Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received not the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. These things we also speak not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God for they are foolishness to him nor can he know them because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him. But we have the mind of Christ. There we see the we know not in the Gnostic sense but the fact that we have to first upon our calling know where we are headed and what God has in mind for us.
