The Marriage of the Lamb

'Prophecy Watch' by Staff

Let us focus on the marriage supper of the Lamb, a profound event described in Revelation 19:7-9. The apostle John heard a great multitude proclaiming, "Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready." When the time arrives for the marriage of Jesus Christ to His Bride, the church, it will be a moment of unparalleled gladness and rejoicing, shared with God the Father, His Son, and the heavenly host, surpassing any earthly joy. The Bride will have diligently prepared herself, allowing nothing to hinder her readiness for this extraordinary occasion. John further reveals that the Bride is granted the privilege of wearing fine linen, clean and white, symbolizing the righteous acts of the saints. This attire, far more meaningful than any physical wedding gown, reflects the spiritual transformation of God's children, who become like angels, kings, priests, and pillars in His Temple. The angel then instructs John to write, "Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!" affirming these as the true sayings of God. To be invited to this Marriage Supper is among eternity's greatest blessings. Those present will include God the Father and Jesus Christ, who extend the call, along with God's angels, archangels, twenty-four elders, four living creatures, and the Bride of Christ, composed of the resurrected and transformed members of God's true church across generations. However, the five foolish virgins, unprepared for the event, will not be there, nor will satan and his demons, who will be barred from heaven. The timing and location suggest that the wedding ceremony and Marriage Supper will occur in heaven, following the first resurrection and before the descent to earth. During this period, God's 144,000 firstfruits stand with the Lamb on the heavenly Mount Zion, before God's throne, already redeemed from the earth. They remain in heaven during the outpouring of the seven last plagues and the suppression of evil forces. Immediately after the Marriage Supper, heaven opens again, and the Bridegroom, with His garment dipped in blood, along with His Bride and angels, all clothed in fine, white, clean linen, descend to earth. The duration of the wedding and Marriage Supper remains a mystery, unbound by human conceptions of time. The key for us is to diligently prepare now, ensuring that nothing, especially the distractions of satan, diverts us from readiness for this most marvelous ceremony, which will outshine even the grandest earthly weddings. We must spend every moment possible with our glorious Fiancé, growing closer as the wedding day approaches.
