Hands That Shed Innocent Blood
Sermon by Martin G. CollinsA culture of death has pervaded this nation since the US Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade on January 22, 1973, resulting in the brutal destruction of more than 54 million unborn, legally murdered in America. This death mentality starkly contrasts with the refusal to legally execute child molesters, rapists, murderers of innocent people, and vile terrorists, highlighting a twisted societal priority. Isaiah prophesied that when Israel sinned, separating her from God, the nation becomes known for lying and shedding innocent blood, and God declares that He does not intervene because man chooses to sin by his own will. Any nation approving the killing of the innocent bears responsibility for the psychological and physical consequences to its children. The US has been a country of nightmares rather than rest for 40 years due to its violence against unborn children, a period often associated with hardship, affliction, and punishment in Scripture. More than 54 million children have been ripped apart, poisoned, burned, and subjected to horrific methods of murder, and the day of God's wrath will come upon this nation for such atrocities. God's Word makes it clear that abortion is murder, the unjustifiable taking of an innocent human life, prohibited forcefully in Exodus 20:13 and Deuteronomy 5:17. If God required capital punishment for a fatal miscarriage caused by violence, surely His judgment for abortion, which is premeditated murder, can be no less severe toward those involved, unless there is genuine repentance. All life is under God's law, and He, not the state, individual, parent, or doctor, is the Lord of life, governing with His will, from which neither man nor nation can escape the consequences of violation.

Commentary by John W. Ritenbaugh (1932-2023)Of the things God says He hates, including pride and hands that shed innocent blood, nothing seems to be more disgusting than the American abortion industry.
