There is a dearth of leadership in this country. In a smoky back room, a sinister sell-out bill is being crafted, making the debt ceiling situation infinitely worse. Every time a politician promises a "cut," he simply pulls forward the baseline, and the country still increases expenditure. Bi-partisan "big deals" have always been sell-outs, with the left wing snookering the seemingly clueless and naïve Conservatives. The debt will eventually sink the ship of state like a leaky submarine, as the trade deficits continue to mount. Grand compromises have never boded well for America, including the present ill-advised Boehner Bill.
