There are two distinct ways of bringing an offering before God. Abel brought what God had requested and did it with a right attitude, while Cain did not bring what God requested and did it with a wrong attitude. Cain's offering derived from the accursed ground, while Abel followed God's instruction. Abel gave his offering with a faithful and undefiled heart while Cain's heart was resentful and bitter. Cain, unfortunately, remained attached to the world, while Abel strove to please God with his faith and belief.
