Regardless of the explanation, a miracle from God ensured Jacob's blessings to counter his father-in-law's trickery and chicanery. God engineered the entire process, guaranteeing Jacob special favor. We will ensure similar blessings upon ourselves if we emulate the behavior of Christ, Who has emulated the Father for us. Like Jacob, we must conform to the will of God before we have success.
