description: (hide) Along with Jesus Christ's pure and undefiled Gospel of the requirements for salvation, many lethal false "gospels" appear among professed Christians, imitating Satan's clever lie that we can become like God by doing our own thing, disregarding God's 'annoying' commandments and rules if we simply believe in the Lord Jesus, acknowledging that God exists—something the demons have no difficulty practicing. Because God's commandments define His righteousness, obedience is required to be a citizen of His Kingdom, including the Sabbath command established at creation. Most "Christian" churches preach that Christ came to free us from the harsh burden of God's rules, leading their hapless members to embrace the slavery of sin and Satan's big lie that we will not die for embracing it. Whoever breaks the commandments or commits lawlessness will die (John 8:34, I John 3:4). The false gospels teach that there are no consequences for living a sinful lifestyle. Believing in Christ means doing what He commands. Revelation 21:14-15 describes the consequences of those who embrace God's law and those who practice lawlessness. God's people must be among those who embrace God's holy and spiritual law, ensuring true liberty.
