description: (hide) Nehemiah was a leader with character qualities such as compassion, backbone, wisdom, faithfulness, humility, and he was a man who honored the living God with courage and vision. Nehemiah persuaded most people to complete the work of building the wall building it in sections by priests, leaders, families, servants, and even tradesmen, working on different sections that would be interwoven, showing that people had to start from the same foundation. Having a similar mind and following the same standard, completed 6,200 linear feet in 52 days, despite the delaying tactics of the annoying enemy Sanballat (having the same function as Satan the devil), requiring that they keep a weapon in one hand and a tool in the other hand. God's called-out saints are similarly building a spiritual wall of holiness, requiring a day-by-day building project. It is quite interesting how many times rebuilding is mentioned in relation to the work we see being carried out in the Millennium (Amos 9:14, Isaiah 60, Zechariah 2:4-5), when Christ will return to complete the rebuilding, perfecting the holiness of His Creation, when everything will be made new. We now are anticipating the glorious new wall of the new Jerusalem.
