description: (hide) Almighty God loves righteousness—something which Gods saints should emulate. Conversely, God abhors, disdains, and hates evil. In Romans 7:15, Paul expresses intense hatred for the things his human nature (the law of sin and death) prompts him to do. Like the apostle Paul, we need to fight tooth and nail to keep our own human nature in check, putting the old man to death continuously. Jesus castigated each of the seven churches in Revelation challenging them to expurgate the type of sin they were harboring, or they would risk having their candles snuffed out by losing their first love, assimilating and synchronizing with paganism, the doctrines of the Nicolaitans. We must emulate our father Abraham, who taught us to trust exclusively in God rather than to compromise one iota with the world. As the world hates Christ, it will also hate us. Let us be loyal to God through whatever comes our way, though it might hurt physically, financially, perhaps costing us our job, or costing our relationship with our family or our mate. We should fear God instead of the Nicolaitans.
