Confessions of a Finger-Pointer

'Ready Answer' by Staff

God deeply disapproves of the act of finger-pointing, an attitude reflecting superiority, pride, and condemnation, which He describes as irritating smoke in His nostrils. He warns that those who engage in this behavior will be judged by the same harsh standard they apply to others. As a habit, finger-pointing is easy to fall into and hard to break, often targeting even those in ministry called to lead and teach, unfairly lumping faithful servants with hirelings. God is clear that when a problem is perceived, one should approach the brother privately to discuss the concern, focusing on resolution without gossip or condemnation, aiming to gain rather than lose a brother. He emphasizes the need to beseech Him about this sin during fasting, promising that repentance from finger-pointing will bring more peace, love, harmony, and joy in the Body of Christ, along with increased blessings, healings, understanding, light, guidance, and answers to prayer. Instead of tearing down, those who repent will repair and build, leaving others edified, clean, encouraged, and uplifted after interactions.
