The Light of Day and the Dark of Night

Feast of Tabernacles Sermon by Mike Ford

From the beginning, God gave us light. By making the sun, the moon, the stars, the rotating of the earth, and the tilt of the earth, He also gave us the dark of night. There is no darkness in God at all. Despair, depression, and hopelessness often seem worse at night, while we hold hope in the light that tomorrow will be a better day. The night is a time of rest after the day's work, yet too often it becomes a time when sin abounds because we think we are hidden from sight. The dark of night hides sin, or so we believe, but eventually, sins will find the light of day. If satan can light up the night, then he can dress up sin and present it as good. God is light, and in Him is no darkness, while satan uses lights to disguise the night, hiding the true nature of darkness. We are to reflect God's light in us, walking in the light by clearly seeing and obeying His ways, avoiding evil. The metaphor of the light of day and the dark of night runs throughout the scriptures, highlighting the contrast between God's truth and the deception of darkness.

Pentecost and Time

Sermon by Richard T. Ritenbaugh

Because of our 'time-bound' state, unless we sync with God's timetable, we are squandering our God-given time to become members of His family.
