Everlasting Light
Feast of Tabernacles Sermon by Martin G. CollinsGod is the only true source of everlasting light, embodying truth, goodness, purity, righteousness, and holiness. The glory of His holiness and presence is the everlasting light of the redeemed, as envisioned in Israel's final triumph of goodness where the Lord will be their everlasting light. In the New Jerusalem, as described in Revelation, the divine King's presence and the glory of God provide light for the city, eliminating the need for sun or moon, with the Lamb as its lamp. Illuminated by the overflowing radiance of God's glory, the Holy City no longer requires a temple, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. At the end of the age, the light of God will obliterate all traces of darkness, renewing both earth and heavens. Light, truth, beauty, holiness, and joy, along with the presence and worship of God, will be abiding realities. The servants of God will reign with Christ forever in everlasting light, with no physical or spiritual night, and perfect knowledge and joy will endure eternally. May the Lord be to you an everlasting light, and your God your glory!
