The Branch of God's Planting
'Ready Answer' by Bill OnisickGod has grafted His people as branches into His Family, contrary to their natural state. In Isaiah 60:21, God's people are described as the branch of His planting, the work of His hands, established and fastened through a process akin to grafting, ensuring their righteousness and eternal inheritance for His glory. Paul in Romans 11:16 affirms that if the root, Jesus Christ, is holy, so too are the branches joined to Him, emphasizing that God will not unite Himself with unholy offspring. The natural branches of Israel, broken off due to unbelief, faced His wrath for disobedience, and likewise, He will not spare those who fall into similar fruitlessness. Through the grace of God under the New Covenant, those called—whether Israelite or Gentile—become branches of His planting, grafted to the righteous Branch, Jesus Christ, receiving nourishment through His Holy Spirit to produce fruit.
