God Is Still on His Throne

Feast of Tabernacles Sermon by Martin G. Collins

In the divine realm, God reigns supreme on His throne in heaven, as Scripture affirms with clarity and power. Jesus Christ, the Son of Man, is positioned at the right hand of God, a place of utmost honor, dignity, and majesty. This significant placement was witnessed by Stephen, who, filled with the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, with Jesus standing at His right hand, actively engaged in the events unfolding below, as recorded in Acts 7:55-56. This vision reveals Jesus not as a passive observer but as an active participant in the unfolding of God's plan. Further, Scripture portrays Jesus Christ both standing and sitting at God's right hand, depending on the occasion. In Hebrews 8:1, He is described as seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, signifying His role as the eternal High Priest ministering from heaven. Similarly, Hebrews 12:2 confirms His seated position, having endured the cross and taken His place of authority beside God. Revelation 3:21 also speaks of Jesus sitting with His Father on His throne, promising that those who overcome will share in this honor, sitting with Him. This dynamic presence of Jesus Christ at God's right hand underscores His integral role in the divine government and the spiritual reality of God's throne, where power, might, and excitement continuously emanate. As the saints, including the firstfruits, are destined to appear before this throne on the Sea of Glass, the vision of Jesus at God's side—whether standing in active involvement or seated in authority—offers a profound glimpse into the glory and honor that await in God's Kingdom.

God is Still on His Throne!

Sermon by Martin G. Collins

God is on His throne in heaven, a truth affirmed by Scripture, and at His right hand stands or sits Jesus Christ, reflecting His honor, dignity, and majesty. In the vision of Stephen, as recorded in Acts 7, he gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God with Jesus standing at His right hand, actively engaged and not merely a passive observer during Stephen's martyrdom. This position at God's right hand signifies the highest place of honor, as Stephen witnessed Jesus, the Son of Man, standing in divine authority. Scripture further reveals in Revelation 3:21 that Jesus Himself declares He overcame and sat down with His Father on His throne, promising the same privilege to those who overcome. Hebrews 8:1 and 12:2 confirm this, portraying Jesus as the eternal High Priest seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, emphasizing His role in the forgiveness of sins. Whether standing or sitting, depending on the occasion, Jesus Christ remains at God's right hand, a central figure in the divine administration and glory surrounding the throne of God.

Dominion and Glory and a Kingdom

When Jesus told the religious leaders they would see Him seated at God's right hand and coming on the clouds, He did not mean they would be alive at His return.

Dominion and Glory and a Kingdom

Christ's words at His trial regarding sitting at God's right hand and coming on clouds sound like His return, but they have another fulfillment altogether.
