Do Americans Really Care? (Part One)
Commentary by John W. Ritenbaugh (1932-2023)America is no longer governed by a representative form of government but by an elite oligarchy that quietly seized control without warfare. This oligarchy is part of a movement we were born into and accepted without question. The elite oligarchy, referred to as the establishment, has led to the American people becoming a nation of serfs, bound within the United States. This situation has arisen because our liberties have been stolen through governmental and corporate dictatorship engineered by leaders who want all the wealth and power for themselves. The Constitution, which protects our rights as citizens, has been ignored by corrupt powers in government, including the president and Supreme Court justices, without any real resistance from the voters.

This means that a small group of very wealthy and powerful men, who do not hold any elective offices, have stolen governmental power primarily through their ability to manipulate those in elected office through their wealth. In other words, we have government by bribery.
