The Crowns of Success (Part One)

CGG Weekly by John Reiss

The crown of righteousness, as mentioned in II Timothy 4:8, is a reward that the Lord, the righteous Judge, will grant on that Day not only to Paul but to all who have loved His appearing. Paul had instructed Timothy earlier in II Timothy 2:22 to pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace alongside those who call on the Lord with a pure heart. Through Christ's shed blood, we are justified and brought into alignment with God's standards, declared righteous. Yet, we must also seek righteousness through godly living, struggling against the pressures to sin, which is hard work. With Christ's help, we can obey God's commandments, achieve victory, and be awarded the crown of righteousness when our Lord and Savior returns.
