Was Mr. Armstrong an Apostle?

'Personal' from John W. Ritenbaugh

In II Corinthians 12:12, Paul defended his apostleship by stating that the signs of an apostle were accomplished among the Corinthians with perseverance, in signs, wonders, and mighty deeds. These signs were visible fruits of his ministry, including preaching the gospel of the Kingdom of God, healing people, casting out demons, converting individuals, raising congregations, and clarifying doctrine under Christ, as seen in Acts 15. Similarly, in considering Mr. Armstrong, the signs of an apostle are evident in his life's work. Through him, people were healed, demons were cast out, thousands were converted worldwide, and congregations were raised. Millions received true vision and hope through publications like the Plain Truth and Good News, as well as books, booklets, and letters inspired by God. God used him to restore true doctrines lost over centuries of deception and confusion. Like apostles who came later, out of due time, Mr. Armstrong fulfilled his office, ordained by the church—the body of which Christ is Head—and sent to fulfill a mission.

The Messenger of Christ

Sermon/Bible Study by John W. Ritenbaugh

Herbert W. Armstrong was single-minded about preaching the Gospel. The scattering of the church could have been caused by members making him a type of idol.

What Is the Work?

Feast of Tabernacles Sermon by John W. Ritenbaugh

The work of God does not always stay the same, continually shifting media, techniques, and approaches, similar to the Israelites following the Cloud.

Should All Believers Lay Hands on the Sick?

Sermonette by David C. Grabbe

There is a diversity of gifts, but not everyone in the Body has the same gifts. It is presumptuous to attempt to use gifts one has not received from God.
