The converted person faces up to truth and pays the price for it. The unconverted person rejects truth even when it is given because that person does not want to pay the price. The unconverted person is unwilling to make the sacrifice or to deny the self. That person would rather live in comfort than make life uncomfortable by facing up to truth. It is better to acknowledge truth, to repent, and to escape the penalty that is going to come. The converted person must freely choose to submit to God's truth and not allow human nature to deceive into thinking that one can get away with rejecting it. Sin is always a lie because the sinner deceives the self into thinking that sin will make one happy, but in the end it ruins life both for that person and for others. One cannot gamble against the laws of God and win. One is going to lose every time. The person who is of the truth hears God's voice and responds by yielding to it. The difference between the converted and the unconverted is their approach to truth. The inevitable working of God's laws will bring blessing or cursing depending on whether truth is used or not used.
