  • Isaiah 9:1-16
    Nevertheless the gloom will not be upon her who is distressed,
    As when at first He lightly esteemed
    The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali,
    And afterward more heavily oppressed her,
    By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan,
    In Galilee of the Gentiles.
    The people who walked in darkness
    Have seen a great light;
    Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death,
    Upon them a light has shined.
    You have multiplied the nation
    And increased its joy;
    They rejoice before You
    According to the joy of harvest,
    As men rejoice when they divide the spoil.
    For You have broken the yoke of his burden
    And the staff of his shoulder,
    The rod of his oppressor,
    As in the day of Midian.
    For every warrior’s sandal from the noisy battle,
    And garments rolled in blood,
    Will be used for burning and fuel of fire.
    For unto us a Child is born,
    Unto us a Son is given;
    And the government will be upon His shoulder.
    And His name will be called
    Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
    Of the increase of His government and peace
    There will be no end,
    Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
    To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
    From that time forward, even forever.
    The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. The Lord sent a word against Jacob,
    And it has fallen on Israel.
    All the people will know—
    Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria—
    Who say in pride and arrogance of heart:
    "The bricks have fallen down,
    But we will rebuild with hewn stones;
    The sycamores are cut down,
    But we will replace them with cedars."
    Therefore the LORD shall set up
    The adversaries of Rezin against him,
    And spur his enemies on,
    The Syrians before and the Philistines behind;
    And they shall devour Israel with an open mouth.
    For all this His anger is not turned away,
    But His hand is stretched out still.
    For the people do not turn to Him who strikes them,
    Nor do they seek the LORD of hosts.
    Therefore the LORD will cut off head and tail from Israel,
    Palm branch and bulrush in one day.
    The elder and honorable, he is the head;
    The prophet who teaches lies, he is the tail.
    For the leaders of this people cause them to err,
    And those who are led by them are destroyed.

  • Jeremiah 31:7-12
    For thus says the LORD:
    “ Sing with gladness for Jacob,
    And shout among the chief of the nations;
    Proclaim, give praise, and say,
    ‘ O LORD, save Your people,
    The remnant of Israel!’
    Behold, I will bring them from the north country,
    And gather them from the ends of the earth,
    Among them the blind and the lame,
    The woman with child
    And the one who labors with child, together;
    A great throng shall return there.
    They shall come with weeping,
    And with supplications I will lead them.
    I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters,
    In a straight way in which they shall not stumble;
    For I am a Father to Israel,
    And Ephraim is My firstborn.
    ' Hear the word of the LORD, O nations,
    And declare it in the isles afar off, and say,
    ' He who scattered Israel will gather him,
    And keep him as a shepherd does his flock.'
    For the LORD has redeemed Jacob,
    And ransomed him from the hand of one stronger than he.
    Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion,
    Streaming to the goodness of the LORD'
    For wheat and new wine and oil,
    For the young of the flock and the herd;
    Their souls shall be like a well-watered garden,
    And they shall sorrow no more at all.

  • John 7:32-43
    The Pharisees heard the crowd murmuring these things concerning Him, and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take Him. Then Jesus said to them, “I shall be with you a little while longer, and then I go to Him who sent Me. You will seek Me and not find Me, and where I am you cannot come.” Then the Jews said among themselves, “Where does He intend to go that we shall not find Him? Does He intend to go to the Dispersion among the Greeks and teach the Greeks? What is this thing that He said, ‘You will seek Me and not find Me, and where I am you cannot come’?” On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water." But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. Therefore many from the crowd, when they heard this saying, said, “Truly this is the Prophet.” Others said, “This is the Christ.” But some said, “Will the Christ come out of Galilee? Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the seed of David and from the town of Bethlehem, where David was?' So there was a division among the people because of Him.

  • Deuteronomy 32:1-4
    “Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak;
    And hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. Let my teaching drop as the rain,
    My speech distill as the dew,
    As raindrops on the tender herb,
    And as showers on the grass. For I proclaim the name of the LORD:
    Ascribe greatness to our God. He is the Rock, His work is perfect;
    For all His ways are justice,
    A God of truth and without injustice;
    Righteous and upright is He.

  • Deuteronomy 32:6
    Do you thus deal with the LORD,
    O foolish and unwise people?
    Is He not your Father, who bought you?
    Has He not made you and established you?

  • 2 Samuel 22:47
    “The LORD lives!
    Blessed be my Rock!
    Let God be exalted,
    The Rock of my salvation!

  • Psalm 18:1-3
    To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David the servant of the LORD, who spoke to the LORD the words of this song on the day that the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. And he said: I will love You, O LORD, my strength.
    The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
    My God, my strength, in whom I will trust;
    My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
    I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised;
    So shall I be saved from my enemies.

  • Matthew 16:13-18
    When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered and said, 'You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.' Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

  • 1 Corinthians 3:1-17
    And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men? For when one says, "I am of Paul," and another, "I am of Apollos," are you not carnal? Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord gave to each one? I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor. For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, you are God's building. According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one's work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is. If anyone's work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone's work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.

  • 1 Corinthians 10:1-4
    Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea, all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, all ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.

  • Revelation 2:23
    I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works.

  • Genesis 22:17
    blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies.

  • Exodus 17:1-7
    Then all the congregation of the children of Israel set out on their journey from the Wilderness of Sin, according to the commandment of the LORD, and camped in Rephidim; but there was no water for the people to drink. Therefore the people contended with Moses, and said, “Give us water, that we may drink.”So Moses said to them, “Why do you contend with me? Why do you tempt the LORD?” And the people thirsted there for water, and the people complained against Moses, and said, “Why is it you have brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our livestock with thirst?” So Moses cried out to the LORD, saying, “What shall I do with this people? They are almost ready to stone me!” And the LORD said to Moses, “Go on before the people, and take with you some of the elders of Israel. Also take in your hand your rod with which you struck the river, and go. Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock in Horeb; and you shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it, that the people may drink.' And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel. So he called the name of the place Massah and Meribah, because of the contention of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, “Is the LORD among us or not?”

  • Numbers 20:1-12
    Then the children of Israel, the whole congregation, came into the Wilderness of Zin in the first month, and the people stayed in Kadesh; and Miriam died there and was buried there. Now there was no water for the congregation; so they gathered together against Moses and Aaron. And the people contended with Moses and spoke, saying: “If only we had died when our brethren died before the LORD! Why have you brought up the assembly of the LORD into this wilderness, that we and our animals should die here? And why have you made us come up out of Egypt, to bring us to this evil place? It is not a place of grain or figs or vines or pomegranates; nor is there any water to drink.” So Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly to the door of the tabernacle of meeting, and they fell on their faces. And the glory of the LORD appeared to them. Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “Take the rod; you and your brother Aaron gather the congregation together. Speak to the rock before their eyes, and it will yield its water; thus you shall bring water for them out of the rock, and give drink to the congregation and their animals.” So Moses took the rod from before the LORD as He commanded him. And Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock; and he said to them, “Hear now, you rebels! Must we bring water for you out of this rock?” Then Moses lifted his hand and struck the rock twice with his rod; and water came out abundantly, and the congregation and their animals drank. Then the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, 'Because you did not believe Me, to hallow Me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.'

  • Deuteronomy 32:15
    "But Jeshurun grew fat and kicked;
    You grew fat, you grew thick,
    You are obese!
    Then he forsook God who made him,
    And scornfully esteemed the Rock of his salvation.

  • Deuteronomy 32:18
    Of the Rock who begot you, you are unmindful,
    And have forgotten the God who fathered you.

  • Deuteronomy 32:31-33
    For their rock is not like our Rock,
    Even our enemies themselves being judges. For their vine is of the vine of Sodom
    And of the fields of Gomorrah;
    Their grapes are grapes of gall,
    Their clusters are bitter. Their wine is the poison of serpents,
    And the cruel venom of cobras.

  • Deuteronomy 32:36-38
    “For the LORD will judge His people
    And have compassion on His servants,
    When He sees that their power is gone,
    And there is no one remaining, bond or free. He will say: ‘Where are their gods,
    The rock in which they sought refuge? Who ate the fat of their sacrifices,
    And drank the wine of their drink offering?
    Let them rise and help you,
    And be your refuge.

  • 1 Samuel 23:19-29
    Then the Ziphites came up to Saul at Gibeah, saying, “Is David not hiding with us in strongholds in the woods, in the hill of Hachilah, which is on the south of Jeshimon? Now therefore, O king, come down according to all the desire of your soul to come down; and our part shall be to deliver him into the king’s hand.” And Saul said, “Blessed are you of the LORD, for you have compassion on me. Please go and find out for sure, and see the place where his hideout is, and who has seen him there. For I am told he is very crafty. See therefore, and take knowledge of all the lurking places where he hides; and come back to me with certainty, and I will go with you. And it shall be, if he is in the land, that I will search for him throughout all the clans of Judah.” So they arose and went to Ziph before Saul. But David and his men were in the Wilderness of Maon, in the plain on the south of Jeshimon. When Saul and his men went to seek him, they told David. Therefore he went down to the rock, and stayed in the Wilderness of Maon. And when Saul heard that, he pursued David in the Wilderness of Maon. Then Saul went on one side of the mountain, and David and his men on the other side of the mountain. So David made haste to get away from Saul, for Saul and his men were encircling David and his men to take them. But a messenger came to Saul, saying, 'Hurry and come, for the Philistines have invaded the land!' Therefore Saul returned from pursuing David, and went against the Philistines; so they called that place the Rock of Escape. Then David went up from there and dwelt in strongholds at En Gedi.

    And he said:
    “The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; The God of my strength, in whom I will trust;
    My shield and the horn of my salvation,
    My stronghold and my refuge;
    My Savior, You save me from violence. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised;
    So shall I be saved from my enemies.

  • 2 Samuel 22:32-33

    And who is a rock, except our God? God is my strength and power,
    And He makes my way perfect.

  • Psalm 18:17-19
    He delivered me from my strong enemy,
    From those who hated me,
    For they were too strong for me.
    They confronted me in the day of my calamity,
    But the LORD was my support.
    He also brought me out into a broad place;
    He delivered me because He delighted in me.

  • Psalm 18:31
    For who is God, except the LORD?
    And who is a rock, except our God?

  • Psalm 49:14
    Like sheep they are laid in the grave;
    Death shall feed on them;
    The upright shall have dominion over them in the morning;
    And their beauty shall be consumed in the grave, far from their dwelling.

  • Psalm 61:1-8
    To the Chief Musician. On a stringed instrument.A Psalm of David. Hear my cry, O God;
    Attend to my prayer.
    From the end of the earth I will cry to You,
    When my heart is overwhelmed;
    Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For You have been a shelter for me,
    A strong tower from the enemy.
    I will abide in Your tabernacle forever;
    I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah For You, O God, have heard my vows;
    You have given me the heritage of those who fear Your name.
    You will prolong the king’s life,
    His years as many generations.
    He shall abide before God forever.
    Oh, prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him! So I will sing praise to Your name forever,
    That I may daily perform my vows.

  • Psalm 118:22
    The stone which the builders rejected
    Has become the chief cornerstone.

  • Proverbs 31:10-31
    Who can find a virtuous wife?
    For her worth is far above rubies.
    The heart of her husband safely trusts her;
    So he will have no lack of gain.
    She does him good and not evil
    All the days of her life.
    She seeks wool and flax,
    And willingly works with her hands.
    She is like the merchant ships,
    She brings her food from afar.
    She also rises while it is yet night,
    And provides food for her household,
    And a portion for her maidservants.
    She considers a field and buys it;
    From her profits she plants a vineyard.
    She girds herself with strength,
    And strengthens her arms.
    She perceives that her merchandise is good,
    And her lamp does not go out by night.
    She stretches out her hands to the distaff,
    And her hand holds the spindle.
    She extends her hand to the poor,
    Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy.
    She is not afraid of snow for her household,
    For all her household is clothed with scarlet.
    She makes tapestry for herself;
    Her clothing is fine linen and purple.
    Her husband is known in the gates,
    When he sits among the elders of the land.
    She makes linen garments and sells them,
    And supplies sashes for the merchants.
    Strength and honor are her clothing;
    She shall rejoice in time to come.
    She opens her mouth with wisdom,
    And on her tongue is the law of kindness.
    She watches over the ways of her household,
    And does not eat the bread of idleness.
    Her children rise up and call her blessed;
    Her husband also, and he praises her:
    ' Many daughters have done well,
    But you excel them all.'
    Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing,
    But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.
    Give her of the fruit of her hands,
    And let her own works praise her in the gates.

  • Isaiah 10:20-22
    And it shall come to pass in that day
    That the remnant of Israel,
    And such as have escaped of the house of Jacob,
    Will never again depend on him who defeated them,
    But will depend on the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
    The remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob,
    To the Mighty God.
    For though your people, O Israel, be as the sand of the sea,
    A remnant of them will return;
    The destruction decreed shall overflow with righteousness.

  • Isaiah 12:1-6
    And in that day you will say:
    “ O LORD, I will praise You;

    Behold, God is my salvation,
    I will trust and not be afraid;
    ‘ For YAH, the LORD, is my strength and song;
    He also has become my salvation.’”
    Therefore with joy you will draw water
    From the wells of salvation. And in that day you will say:
    “ Praise the LORD, call upon His name;
    Declare His deeds among the peoples,
    Make mention that His name is exalted.
    Sing to the LORD,
    For He has done excellent things;
    This is known in all the earth.
    Cry out and shout, O inhabitant of Zion,
    For great is the Holy One of Israel in your midst!”

  • Isaiah 26:1-4
    In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah:
    “ We have a strong city;
    Godwill appoint salvation for walls and bulwarks.
    Open the gates,
    That the righteous nation which keeps the truth may enter in.
    You will keep him in perfect peace,
    Whose mind is stayed on You,
    Because he trusts in You.
    Trust in the LORD forever,
    For in YAH, the LORD, is everlasting strength.

  • Isaiah 28:16

    'Therefore do not fear, O My servant Jacob,' says the LORD,
    'Nor be dismayed, O Israel;
    For behold, I will save you from afar,
    And your seed from the land of their captivity.
    Jacob shall return, have rest and be quiet,
    And no one shall make him afraid.
    For I am with you,' says the LORD, 'to save you;
    Though I make a full end of all nations where I have scattered you,
    Yet I will not make a complete end of you.
    But I will correct you in justice,
    And will not let you go altogether unpunished.' "For thus says the LORD:
    'Your affliction is incurable,
    Your wound is severe.
    There is no one to plead your cause,
    That you may be bound up;
    You have no healing medicines.
    All your lovers have forgotten you;
    They do not seek you;
    For I have wounded you with the wound of an enemy,
    With the chastisement of a cruel one,
    For the multitude of your iniquities,
    Becauseyour sins have increased.
    Why do you cry about your affliction?
    Your sorrow is incurable.
    Because of the multitude of your iniquities,
    Because your sins have increased,
    I have done these things to you.

  • Jeremiah 30:24

    And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever. Inasmuch as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold&emdash;the great God has made known to the king what will come to pass after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation is sure."

  • Matthew 7:24-27
    "Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. "But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall."

    Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures:
    ‘ The stone which the builders rejected
    Has become the chief cornerstone.
    This was the LORD’s doing,
    And it is marvelous in our eyes’? “Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it. And whoever falls on this stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder.”

  • John 4:5-14
    So He came to a city of Samaria which is called Sychar, near the plot of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied from His journey, sat thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour. A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, "Give Me a drink." For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food. Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, "How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?" For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans. Jesus answered and said to her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, 'Give Me a drink,' you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water." The woman said to Him, “Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water? Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, as well as his sons and his livestock?” Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.'

    Now the Jews’ Feast of Tabernacles was at hand. His brothers therefore said to Him, “Depart from here and go into Judea, that Your disciples also may see the works that You are doing. For no one does anything in secret while he himself seeks to be known openly. If You do these things, show Yourself to the world.” For even His brothers did not believe in Him. Then Jesus said to them, “My time has not yet come, but your time is always ready. The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it that its works are evil. You go up to this feast. I am not yet going up to this feast, for My time has not yet fully come.”

  • John 7:14-24
    Now about the middle of the feast Jesus went up into the temple and taught. And the Jews marveled, saying, “How does this Man know letters, having never studied?” Jesus answered them and said, 'My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me. If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority. He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him. Did not Moses give you the law, yet none of you keeps the law? Why do you seek to kill Me?” The people answered and said, “You have a demon. Who is seeking to kill You?” Jesus answered and said to them, "I did one work, and you all marvel. Moses therefore gave you circumcision (not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and you circumcise a man on the Sabbath. If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath, so that the law of Moses should not be broken, are you angry with Me because I made a man completely well on the Sabbath? Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment."

  • John 7:28-29
    Then Jesus cried out, as He taught in the temple, saying, “You both know Me, and you know where I am from; and I have not come of Myself, but He who sent Me is true, whom you do not know. But I know Him, for I am from Him, and He sent Me.”

Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."

    Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture,
    "Behold, I lay in Zion
    A chief cornerstone, elect, precious,
    And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame." Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient,
    "The stone which the builders rejected
    Has become the chief cornerstone," and
    "A stone of stumbling
    And a rock of offense." They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed.
