And great was its fall." And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
     
  • Luke 6:46-49
    "But why do you call Me "Lord, Lord," and not do the things which I say? Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock.   • 1 Corinthians 3:9-13
    For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, you are God's building. Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come. Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

  • Deuteronomy 5:29-33

And you shall do what is right and good in the sight of the LORD, that it may be well with you, and that you may go in and possess the good land of which the LORD swore to your fathers, to cast out all your enemies from before you, as the LORD has spoken.

  • 2 Corinthians 5:16-20

  • Ephesians 4:17-24

  • Colossians 1:9-14

  • 2 Timothy 2:14-16

  • Hebrews 10:35-39
    Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise:

    And He who is coming will come and will not tarry.
    Now the just shall live by faith;
    But if anyone draws back,
    My soul has no pleasure in him." But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.
