Holy angels are commissioned by God to serve as guardians to the faithful elect, acting as ministering spirits to those who will inherit salvation. They guide, provide for, protect, and deliver God's people, ensuring their safety and support on the path to eternal life. Angels prospered Abraham's servant in finding Rebecca, supplied Elijah with food and water, and protected Daniel in the lions' den by shutting the lions' mouths. They encamp around those who fear God, as seen in David's and Peter's deliverances. As watchers, they vigilantly guard sacred places and intervene under God's direction, forming a protective hedge around God's inheritance to keep evil at bay.

Angelic Responsibilities

Sermon/Bible Study by Martin G. Collins

Holy angels, as powerful and responsible beings, are commissioned by God to serve as guardians to the faithful elect. They are ministering spirits, sent forth to minister to those who will inherit salvation, providing service to the saints under God's direction. Their ministry includes guiding, providing for, protecting, delivering, and comforting God's people, ensuring they are supported on their path to eternal life. God has tasked His angels with guiding events for the benefit of the elect. For instance, in the case of Abraham's servant seeking a wife for Isaac, God sent an angel to prosper the servant's way, making the journey successful and leading to the provision of Rebecca. Similarly, angels act as providers, as seen when an angel supplied food and water to Elijah in the wilderness, enabling him to journey for forty days and nights on the strength of that provision. Protection is another vital role of the holy angels. They are charged with keeping God's obedient children safe from accidents, calamities, and other evils, as illustrated in Psalm 91, where God gives His angels charge over His people to bear them up in their hands, preventing even minor harm. In a remarkable instance, Daniel was protected in the lions' den by an angel sent by God, who shut the lions' mouths because of Daniel's innocence and respect for authority. Angels also deliver God's people from danger. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, rescuing them, as David experienced and recorded in Psalm 34. Peter's miraculous escape from prison, facilitated by an angel who awakened him, released his chains, and guided him to safety, further demonstrates this protective and delivering role. Under God's authority, holy angels serve with loyalty and dedication, helping the elect attain salvation. They are greater in power and ability than humans currently, yet they selflessly minister to those whose potential in the God Family surpasses their own, reflecting their absolute commitment to God's will.

Heirs of Salvation

'Prophecy Watch' by Ronny H. Graham

God has sent His loyal angels as servants from the seat of government to fulfill ministerial functions focused on His saints, those who will inherit salvation. Despite being far wiser and more powerful than we are, angels are commissioned by God to minister to His children, the heirs of salvation, in our present weak and immature state. He has sent these same mighty spirit beings, who formed the hedge around Job, stopped the mouths of lions, and surrounded Elisha, to watch over His inheritance, ensuring that satan and his minions are kept at bay. As Almighty God focuses on His elect, providing for them exceedingly abundantly, we need not fear, for His angelic host guards His chosen ones.

Saved By His Life

Sermonette by Austin Del Castillo

Contrary to the belief that most of the Christian professing world hold that we are saved by the death of Jesus Christ, in reality we are saved by His life.

The Spirit World

Sermon by Richard T. Ritenbaugh

Angels serve as guardians in the spirit world, a realm largely inaccessible to humans, yet they play a vital role in God's plan. Their responsibilities include protecting and ministering to those who will inherit salvation, acting as servants under God's direction. They are often referred to as watchers, vigilantly keeping an eye on humanity and intervening when necessary, as guided by God's will. Specific types, such as cherubim, are designated as guardians of sacred places, positioned to protect areas like the Garden of Eden and standing near God's throne. This protective role underscores their purpose as ministering spirits, ensuring the safety and spiritual progress of God's elect as part of their service in the broader angelic world.
