• James 1:13-16
  Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.
   
• Isaiah 59:2-5
  But your iniquities have separated you from your God;
  And your sins have hidden His face from you,
  So that He will not hear.
  For your hands are defiled with blood,
  And your fingers with iniquity;
  Your lips have spoken lies,
  Your tongue has muttered perversity.
  No one calls for justice,
  Nor does any plead for truth.
  They trust in empty words and speak lies;
  They conceive evil and bring forth iniquity.
  They hatch vipers' eggs and weave the spider's web;
  He who eats of their eggs dies,
  And from that which is crushed a viper breaks out.
  
   
• Amos 4:6-12
  "Also I gave you cleanness of teeth in all your cities.
  And lack of bread in all your places;
  Yet you have not returned to Me,"
  Says the LORD.
  "I also withheld rain from you,
  When there were still three months to the harvest.
  I made it rain on one city,
  I withheld rain from another city.
  One part was rained upon,
  And where it did not rain the part withered.
  So two or three cities wandered to another city to drink water,
  But they were not satisfied;
  Yet you have not returned to Me,"
  Says the LORD.
  "I blasted you with blight and mildew.
  When your gardens increased,
  Your vineyards,
  Your fig trees,
  And your olive trees,
  The locust devoured them;
  Yet you have not returned to Me,"
  Says the LORD.
  "I sent among you a plague after the manner of Egypt;
  Your young men I killed with a sword,
  Along with your captive horses;
  I made the stench of your camps come up into your nostrils;
  Yet you have not returned to Me,"
  Says the LORD.
  "I overthrew some of you,
  As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah,
  And you were like a firebrand plucked from the burning;
  Yet you have not returned to Me,"
  Says the LORD.
  "Therefore thus will I do to you, O Israel;
  Because I will do this to you,
  Prepare to meet your God, O Israel!"
  
   
• John 8:32-38
  And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." They answered Him, "We are Abraham's descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, 'You will be made free'?" Jesus answered them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. "I know that you are Abraham's descendants, but you seek to kill Me, because My word has no place in you. I speak what I have seen with My Father, and you do what you have seen with your father."
