Cursing is to call upon divine power to cause injury to another. It is related to damning someone. Jesus Christ rebuked James and John the sons of Zebedee when they desired to call fire down from heaven on some Samaritans who did not welcome Him. He turned and said that they did not know what manner of spirit they were of. For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men's lives but to save them.
