Believe the Lie

Sermonette by Ronny H. Graham

As AI generates thousands of contradictory narratives every hour and floods the infosphere with ultra-realistic deep fakes, verification becomes impossible and a shared reality collapses. Citizens no longer merely disagree over interpretations of events; they lose any common ground for determining what events actually occurred. This erosion of civic responsibility causes fragmented truth enclaves to harden individuals into antagonistic tribes that view one another as enemies rather than fellow citizens. News reports of open conflict reflect the resulting social breakdown. The process accelerates when authoritarian actors and powerful tech platforms position themselves as the new arbiters of truth, filling the vacuum left by discredited institutions. Such tribal hardening forms part of the broader deception described in II Thessalonians 2, where those who reject the love of the truth are given over to strong delusion and the lie, producing widespread lawlessness and the inability to distinguish reality from fabrication.
