In this keynote message of the Feast, "The Handwriting s on the Wall," the speaker reflects on the growing brutality and moral decay of modern society as a clear, visible sign of the times (zeitgeist) pointing to Christ's imminent return. Recent violent events across the United States such as savage, senseless acts of hatred appear to be increasing, not only in number, but in their sheer, vile, animalistic inhumanity. Alluding to Daniel 5, this message likens today's world to ancient Babylon—corrupt, arrogant, and blind to its impending judgment. In II Timothy 3, the speaker focuses on the word "brutal" characterizing it as feral, predatory behavior emanating from uncontrolled hatred that dehumanizes others. Sadly, this brutality manifests itself in both individuals and institutions, as is seen in the mob violence that martyred Stephen in Acts 7, as well as foreshadowing the government-sanctioned persecution against God's people in the end times.
