Many Are Called, But Few Are Chosen (Part One)

Martin Collins, by way of introductory comments to his sermon-series on the history of the true Church, reminds us that those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it. God's people have an obligation to acquire, safeguard, and transmit the history of our fellowship to future generations. The Apostle John, as well as Jesus' brothers Jude and James, warned of interlopers taking over the flock from within, expelling true believers as heretics. The parabolic problem of the tares threatening the wheat has continued from the Apostolic Era. Even in our times, ravenous wolves, hating the weekly and annual Sabbaths, have expelled the true believers in the Worldwide Church of God, discarding God's Law, while ushering in practices of the lawless, satanically-ruled world. In His seven letters to the churches, Jesus Christ warns us to hold fast to true doctrine regardless of circumstances. Secular historians (e.g., Eusebius and Josephus) help us discover the identity of the small flock repeatedly rescued from apostasy. For example, Polycarp and Polycrates, disciples of the Apostle John, protected the church of Smyrna from heresy proffered by prelates of the Roman Church who advocated Easter over Passover and Sunday worship in place of the Sabbath. The Roman Church did not accept the canon of Scripture formulated by the Apostles until 485 A.D., and then only after it had "added to" Scripture by appending a collection of apocryphal works.

Reinterpreting History

Richard Ritenbaugh, reflecting on the recent death of Charles Manson, the notorious cult leader and murderer, marvels that The New York Times has morphed into an extreme, far-leftist, propaganda organ committed to attacking traditional values, especially if they emanate from Christianity or conservatism. An op-ed by Baynard Woods, where he asserts that Charles Manson was a precursor to the alt-right, comparing him to Ted Cruz, makes this commitment evident. Woods and others fail to comprehend that Communists and Nazis share the left side of the Right-Left continuum, both making common cause with collectivist, big government, socialism. In point of fact, there was nothing conservative about Manson, whose commune-domiciled followers hoped to start a race war by killing white people. Professor Woods and The New York Times are diligently fulfilling the prophecy of Isaiah 5:20 by calling evil good and good evil, while at the same time demonstrating that the mainstream media, bent on reconstructing history, is no friend of the truth. Anyone who wants to know the truth must approach the media with discernment, care, and healthy skepticism.

The Real Robert E. Lee

Richard Ritenbaugh, reflecting on the leftist, 'progressive,' obsession with the removal of Robert E. Lee's monument, concludes that the media is either woefully ignorant of United States history or maliciously fomenting race war across the country. Robert E. Lee was not only a descendent of one of George Washington's prominent generals, but he also married George Washington's adopted son's daughter, as well as having a track record of supporting the Union. Most of Lee's family was pro-Union, thinking no greater calamity could beset the country than the disintegration of the Union. At West Point, Lee had high grades with not one demerit. His character and honor were noble and unimpeachable. Suppressed by the hateful 'progressive' left is the fact that Lee never held any slaves and immediately freed his in-law's slaves after his marriage. He said at one time he wished he owned every slave in the South so he could free them all. His rise to prominence in the Confederate Army stemmed from his loyalty to Virginia, considered by Lee to be under attack by vengeful Unionists. The current unhinged leftist hatred for selected historical monuments resemble Moab's insane desire to burn the bones of the king of Edom to lime. Presently, the mainstream media's animus is political, but it is only a matter of time before these evil angry insurrectionists might instigate religious persecution as well. As God's called-out ones, we need to offer intercessory prayers on behalf of our leaders in order that we can lead quiet and productive lives. It is vitally important for parents to teach true history to their children and not rely on the filthy lies proffered by the media and the leftist Satanically inspired 'progressive' school systems

Leadership and the Covenants (Part Twenty-One)

John Ritenbaugh, focusing on Genesis 6:5, prior to the Flood, in which mankind's thoughts and intents were evil continually, warns us that a parallel time is on the horizon for those living today. Like our ancient ancestors, we share a habitation with Satan and his demons, evil beings who have been preparing for our demise for thousands of years. The hideous perversions (such as homosexuality and infanticide) did not arrive on the scene instantaneously, but the demonic world has been working to make them the cultural norm for thousands of years. Demons have fostered to the point of fury the ancient conflict between Ishmael and Isaac, and Jacob and Esau. These spirit beings chose to become demons into order to stop God's purpose. They have succeeded to erase all discussion of God out of the public schools by spreading the humanist agenda previously introduced into the universities by anti-God philosophers such as Marx, Darwin, and Nietzsche. John Dewey promulgated this 'progressive' doctrine into the public schools, where it has spread like leavening, fostering a whole generation of individuals lacking any knowledge of God at all. As God's called-out ones, we have entered (through baptism) the same Covenant God made with our forebears before they entered the Promised Land God has not removed the demonic influence which plagued our forebears, deeming it necessary for our spiritual growth. However, God has given us gifts our forebears never received, such as His Holy Spirit, thereby enabling us to advance in the face of massive enemy fire. We are marching to the beat of a different drummer from the rest of the world.

Our Historical Myopia

Richard T. Ritenbaugh:  As the days have wound down toward the new year, the media have been saturated with news of woe. Many people would say that sorrowful tales have filled the Internet and the airwaves throughout 2016 to such an extent that it has been the absolute worst year in living memory. ...

Sincerity and Truth (Part Three)

Richard Ritenbaugh, reviewing Charles Hughes Smith's findings that the entire status quo is a fraud, reiterates that the financial system, the political system, national defense, the healthcare system, higher education, mainstream corporate media, and culture are all hopelessly corrupt. Science fiction writer, Theodore Sturgeon, claims that 90% of everything is pure garbage, prompting economist Gary North to proclaim that we have a responsibility to salvage the 10% that has not yet deteriorated. The vast majority of the current $20 trillion-dollar national debt stems from fraud. Because histories are usually written from the viewpoint of the victors (that is, the cultural survivors), we can never be sure about the extent of fraud and prevarication in historical narratives from previous civilizations. Nothing has changed over time, as is reflected in the contents of the missing 28 pages of the 911 Commission report, suggesting nefarious Saudi involvement in the World Trade Center attack. In this cesspool of prevarication, we have received a life preserver from Jesus Christ, receiving sanctification in His Truth, protecting us from curses. Accepting and living in God's truth has the inexorable effect of separating us from the world. As we continue to feast on the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth, we worship God in spirit and truth, a worship which centers around a spiritual relationship with God rather than a physical place. God is not tethered to any geographical place as was believed by the woman at the well and Naaman the military leader; God is omnipresent and omniscient. Eternal life is to know the Father and the Son. God wants a living relationship, like He enjoyed with Abraham, who was the friend of God. We should continually live and think on the same wavelength as God does, maintaining a close relationship with Him as we continue in the sanctification process. The book of John throughout characterizes Jesus as Truth, our standard and model of true living, the vine to which we must cling, faithfu

Unity and Chaos

John Ritenbaugh suggests that the term "atone" connotes order, unity, and accord derived out of disorganization and chaos. In our nation, education is being used to make unity and harmony. In 1912, the United Stated government turned over the money supply to a private banking concern with dubious motives and character. Following on the heels of the Federal Reserve, liberal theologians, immersed in evolution, proceeded to deconstruct the truths of the Bible. The current administration is leading this nation into a horrendous global collectivism, destroying the sovereignty of all nations. These people in charge have global aspirations, with a world currency on the horizon. What the planners have in mind for the world is entirely evil, but God will end this fiasco bringing atonement and unity to the world.
