The Pope's 'World Political Authority'
'WorldWatch' by Richard T. RitenbaughA non-Christian advocate of a one-world religion could fulfill the role of the False Prophet. This possibility remains an unanswered question regarding any Pope in connection with proposals for a true world political authority to manage the global economy and related international issues.
Trends in Global Religion
'Prophecy Watch' by Richard T. RitenbaughThe end-time Beast is expected to have the cooperation and backing of a worldwide religious system, prompting close observation for the unification of the world's religions into one global system. Despite the apparent disunity among various religious groups—such as Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox Christians maintaining distance, Jews and Arabs in conflict, Shiite and Sunni Moslems wrangling, and the diversity of Eastern and tribal religions—the Bible indicates a brief period of religious unity. This unity, founded on miraculous trickery and brute force, is inherently unstable and short-lived, lasting only a short time as prophesied. God makes this unity possible for the express purpose of fulfilling His plan for mankind, and only His hand is strong enough to allow the world's religions to unite, even temporarily. Ultimately, the political power will turn on its religious partner once it has outlived its usefulness. Though the world religious scene may seem to work against the fulfillment of prophecy, it is right on schedule, as God, the Sovereign Governor of all things, will cause unity in world religion when the time is right and no sooner.
Purpose-Driven Churches (Part 7)
Sermon by John W. RitenbaughThe Outcome-Based Religion series addresses false prophets that disciples in any age must remain alert to and deal with. The Purpose-Driven Churches, also called the Outcome-Based Religion or the Emerging Church, represent a slickly devised religious organization that calls itself Christian. In reality it functions as a business organization with human philosophical, pagan, and occult religious undertones that fit comfortably into a one-world union. This organization proves especially attractive to Israelitish people while its influences reach into the Gentile world with growing success. Its major last-days leaders have not yet appeared, yet centuries of preparation by satan through his spirit and the course of this world have made its outlines clearly visible. The Purpose-Driven Churches form a major player in influencing people in the wrong direction as part of satan's worldwide conspiracy to establish one-world government and all that it entails. An elite group placed in positions of leadership bends political, economic, military, educational, and religious standards into conformity that associates the whole Western world into one loose giant union. These people teach that they will be perfected before Jesus arrives and that they will set up the Kingdom of God on earth before Christ returns. Such doctrine declares them anti-Christ because the setting up of God's kingdom occurs through Jesus Christ after He returns. The International Christian Embassy, Jerusalem shares the same overall theological and political purpose and dominionist direction. Its operations remain in this world as it works toward the same goal of establishing God's kingdom before Jesus arrives. All of this political and religious movement stands in direct opposition to God's Word in the same manner as the Genesis 11 proposal for one-world government.
