description: (hide) Paul is brought before King Agrippa to make his defense. Paul gives his testimony and preaches the gospel. Agrippa is impressed but Paul appeals to Caesar. Paul boards a ship heading to Rome as a prisoner. They encounter a terrible storm and the ship is damaged. Paul encourages them that God will protect them, though the ship will be lost. The ship runs aground on the island of Malta. The natives show kindness and build a fire. A viper bites Paul but he suffers no harm, leading the natives to believe he is a god. In Malta, Paul heals the father of the leading citizen Publius. Paul and his companions stay in Malta for 3 months. Two groups of brethren come out to meet Paul on the journey to Rome, encouraging him. Paul arrives in Rome and is permitted to dwell by himself under house arrest, though guarded by a soldier.
