God has faithfully used the Jewish people, despite their misunderstandings, to preserve and transmit His Word and intentions, including profound truths that point forward to Christ and the Church. Drawing from Romans 3, Jewish tradition, Fiddler on the Roof story, and the Sabbath song Eshet Chayil (Woman of Valor) from Proverbs 31, we discover that this passage is far more than an idealized portrait of womanhood or a generic symbol of the Church; it is divinely placed, constituting a weekly Sabbath "plumb line" calling each believer to personal self-examination and preparation to prepare to be the perfected wife of Christ. When we connect Proverbs 31 to Genesis, Ruth, Esther, and Revelation 19 we learn that all true strength (chayil) comes from Almighty God. God's called-out saints must actively use His strength to develop faithful character, maintaining Christ's trust, and making themselves ready for their future role alongside Him. Christ warns His disciples that readiness is individual, urgent, and essential, and only those who faithfully respond to God's calling will share in the marriage of the Lamb and His Millennial reign.
